CATEGORY I: THE ARTS
STORIES FOR YOUNG HEARTS (A BOOK WRITING COMPETITION)
The objectives of this competition are to help young kids understand their Deen in a way that interests them the most: Story Books. A list of topics is given below but the participants are not restricted to these:
· Cultivating healthy relationships with friends and family
· Good manners in Islam
· Teaching young kids the application of moral values e.g. how a child who did not cheat in exams but relied on Allah (after putting in due hard work) was able to get a better score than the person who cheated.
· Pleasing your parents
· Helping out others;
· Being productive both in deen and dunya
· Concept of Shaitan
· Sharing and how Allah multiplies the reward when you give something away in His cause
Competition Guidelines:
1. Only one entry per team is allowed.
2. Entry can be made either by a single person or in a group of two.
3. All submissions should be in PDF form.
4. All Entries must be emailed to scmconference@gmail.com two weeks prior to the event i.e. before 18th January, 2014.
4. The story must be no longer than 4000 words and should not be plagiarized or published by a publishing house before.
6. The story book should be suitable for children aged between 4-12 years.
7. The story book must not represent any particular organization or brand name.
8. Depiction of human or animal figures is not allowed in any form except for silhouettes or shadows.
9. Theme of the storybook: Revive the light within. Let the change begin.
10. Title of the storybook can be of the participant’s choice.
It should be kept in mind that the SIST team reserves the right to publish any book that is submitted unless stated otherwise to the registration team by the participant before the end of the competition.
