CATEGORY I: THE ARTS


POSTER DESIGNING CONTEST

Competition Guidelines:
1.   No more than 2 students from each team can register for this competition. This competition is NOT a team effort. Each participant must submit a separate piece of work.
1.     Poster should be on paper, of minimum 22 x 28 inches and maximum 24 x 36 inches dimensions.
2.     Means of drawing/painting: pencil, crayon, water color, oil painting, computer drawing, etc.
4.     Depiction of human or animal figures is not allowed in any form except for silhouettes or shadows.
5.   Posters should be 2 dimensional only (no elevation allowed).
6.  The poster must not represent any particular organization or brand name.
7.  The topic of your poster should be clearly stated on it. Here are a few ideas for the topic of poster but you are not restricted to these:
·        The World in Ten years’ Time
·        Success in Deen and Dunya
·        Hijabi and Proud/Women in Islam
·        The Ideal Ummah
·        Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you deny?
·        Omar Bin khattab (R.A) (or other companions)
·        Salah : Karate against all Sins/ Your personal defense kit
·        Battle of Badr and lessons learnt.
8.     Each Poster must be labeled with the name of the participant, institution and team.
9.  The poster should be submitted on DAY 1 of the Tournament. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification from the competition.
10.  Please submit a brief description of the piece and method of execution, which may be considered during judging.
11. If any participant wants to take their poster back with them, they should inform the event managers at least an hour before the competition is over; otherwise it will automatically be assumed that the participant has surrendered possession of their poster to the SIST Committee.

PLEASE NOTE: No requests for the return of artwork will be entertained after the competition is over. The work will be considered abandoned property and ownership rights will be transferred to the SIST Committee.
